How this guide hub works

Choose among the eleven travel purposes below, then read the named destination route and its scope.

Current checklist packs cover Indian citizens residing and applying in India. Coverage varies by purpose; a destination in the selector does not mean every route is finished.

Available guide pages

  • Study

Compare the study routes currently documented below. Read whether each pack covers the visa application, a residence permit, or a later institution requirement; these stages can ask for different evidence.

  • Work

Start with the named employment category and application stage. Employer sponsorship, a work permit and an entry visa can be separate parts of the journey. The linked packs explain the specific branch they cover.

  • Tourism / holiday

Use the destination-specific tourism guide for the route you intend to take. Check its passport, trip-evidence and application-channel instructions rather than treating another destination's checklist as interchangeable.

  • Family / dependant residence

These packs concern joining family for residence. Short visits to see relatives or friends have their own purpose guide. Check the sponsor relationship, applicant conditions and named residence category in each pack.

  • Business

Business-visitor guidance depends on the activities and category stated in each route. Read its limits before using a visitor checklist for an employment, investment or residence plan.

  • Short family / friend visits

Short family or friend visits are separate from family residence. The Canadian parent/grandparent Super Visa pack covers that specific relationship; it does not represent a general checklist for every social visit.

  • Medical treatment

Compare the treatment duration and provider conditions in each route. The UK pack covers private treatment up to six months. Ireland's short route requires treatment unavailable at home and an Irish private-hospital appointment. The US pack preserves medical evidence an officer may request. New Zealand requires prearranged treatment and separate treatment-payment evidence; its renal-dialysis exception does not establish eligibility for this Indian-citizen route.

  • Transit

Match the actual connection: Canadian air transit, UK transit through border control and immediate US transit are different routes. Singapore adds a conditional 96-hour visa-free transit branch with qualifying third-country permission. Hong Kong distinguishes airside transfer from entry using successful PAR. A stop to visit friends, a longer stay or an existing visa can change which guidance applies.

  • Conferences / events

Compare the available conference-attendance routes. Hong Kong covers a successful PAR short-visit branch; Japan remains a preparation guide under review. Read the organiser invitation or registration evidence, cost contributions and language conditions in the named guide. Paid work or a different event role needs separate assessment.

  • Pilgrimage

The available pack covers the Haj Committee of India route for Haj 2027 / 1448H. General registration closed on 24 July 2026; registration records and post-selection documents are separated. It is not an Umrah or private-organiser checklist.

  • Immigration / permanent residence

Compare the named immigration stages: Canada's Express Entry guide begins after an invitation to apply, while the US guide covers an already scheduled Mumbai immigrant-visa interview after petition/NVC processing. These are not initial eligibility assessments. Read the programme, family and translation branches before preparing documents.

  • Study in the United Kingdom document requirements

  • Study abroad document requirements
